Description
INTERVIEW PREPARATION
It’s one of the commonest complaints made by interviewers, “Candidates come completely unprepared.” That’s good news. If your interview preparation is good, you already have a head start over your competition.
Here are the basics of good interview preparation.
- Visit the employer’s website. Print off a few pages. What will you be expected to know? What questions might you be asked? What questions would you like to ask the interviewer?
- Read your own C.V. as if you were the interviewer. What questions would you ask? Have you got a well prepared answer to these questions?
- Gather together everything you need to take to the interview and do it the night before.
- Do you know how to find the place?
- Do you have a contact telephone number in case you run late? Interviewers will not hold it against you if you’re delayed. They will hold it against you if you don’t bother to let them know.
- Have you got your mobile phone? Is it charged up?
If you can’t put a tick against every one of these, your interview preparation is not as good as it ought to be.
