That Job Interview
Facing a job interview is daunting. Whether you're highly qualified or not; whether you're just entering the job market, just been made redundant or gooing for promotion, you have to remember that the candidate who lands the job is not the candidate who is good enough to do the job. It's the candidate who impresses more than all the other candidates who are good enough. And how many candidates will you be up against? Will it be 50, 100, all qualified to about the same level? A bit of a worry isn't it? What will make an employer chose you. (or your lad, your girl if you're a parent?)
Let me share something with you. When you enter the interview room, you have about 30 seconds to make a good impression. If you are doing well 5 minutes into the interview, you're in the frame. If not you've already blown it. You must make an impact and you have to make it fast. You must be memorable. The good news is that it's not that hard. Why? Because most candidates are simply not memorable or they're memorable for the wrong reasons.
It helps to know the weaknesses of the opposition. Do you know the weaknesses of the opposition? Perhaps not, but I do.Give me a ring and I'll tell you how to play your strengths against the weaknesses of most other candidates.
My courses are designed to give candidates the edge, the wow factor that employers are looking for. Forget those pages you can download from the internet that tell you how to answer the 20 most commonly answered questions. I've met interviewers who have heard those answers so many times they can tell which site they came from!! I teach techniques which, when performed well, will not even be recognised as a techniques and which are quite different from anything you've come across before (see my testimonial page).
- How do I know? Because I have spent several weeks asking employers' advice.
These include household name companies: Barclays Bank, Land Rover/Jaguar. They include some of the top companies in Gloucestershire like Cotteswold Dairies, Hazlewoods (Finance specialists) The Corin Group (specialists in the manufacture of orthopaedic prostheses) Stroud and Swindon Building Society. They include recruitment agencies both traditional and on line, they include solicitors specialising in employment law, they include small one man band businesses.
Does everyone require all modules? No, of course not. If my courses are going to provide value for money, I need to understand which modules will suit the your needs (or the needs of your son or daughter) as well as your budget. For a complete list of available modules, please visit website page:
JOB INTERVIEW TRAINING
How do I teach?
By sharing the people skills I used for 34 years in the highly competitive world of commercial selling, working for one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies (visit my personal page to view my C.V.).
There will be no fancy gimmics. I don't process my students, I guide them. I coach only techniques that have worked consistently for me in real commercial situations. My coaching is available on a 1:1 basis but works even better in groups, for which discounts may be available. How can I guarantee success? I can't, but what I can guarantee is this: I will never abandon a student. I will help every one of my canbdidates again and again and again until success is achieved.
- Do I issue certificates? Yes. It will list the modules covered, the companies who acted as my advisors and can be included in a C.V..
